Marking Time

The death of a bride is a test of strength of ones heart, nowadys i am just marking time, you see grieving doesn't change you, it reveals you. As of today she has been gone 2 years 10 months and 29 days, it goes by so fast.  My mom once told me that growing old isn't for sissies.   The two hardest tests on my spiritual road have been the patience to wait for the right moment, and the courage not to be disappointed with what we encounter.  We have the freedom to make choices in life and do whatever we want.  However we do not have the choice on the outcome or the consequences of our decisions.  You see duty is ours, consequences are God's.  My hero said that.  Life is made of so many moments that mean absolutely nothing. Then one day, a single moment comes along to define every second that comes after. Such moments are tests of courage, of strength.  Benjamin Franklin once said, “I didn't fail the test, I just found 100 ways to do it wrong.”   To love is good, too: oh i love being difficult, ha.  For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, that takes courage for many people lack, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.   Sometimes I lie awake at night and I ask, "Is life a multiple choice test or is it a true or false test?" ...Then a voice comes to me out of the dark and says, "We hate to tell you this but life is a thousand word essay.  In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.
